| Job Title: Project Research Engineer (Electronics) - SITARE Lab, IIT Bombay Job Category(s) : Technical Job Description : (Shortened wording, see job URL for full details) Job Purpose: Seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to contribute to the design, fabrication, analysis, and optimization of electronic systems for satellites and space telescopes. The selected candidate will work on space technology projects from high-end satellites to student CubeSats, supporting the proposed "Daksha" space telescope. This position focuses on payload design challenges including multi-layer circuit boards, FPGA programming, and subsystem interfacing. Key Responsibilities: - FPGA programming for detector interfacing and communication with other boards/host PC - Implementation of signal processing of detector outputs - on FPGA and/or host PC - Development of data visualization tools using LabVIEW or Python GUI - Board design and layout for FPGA + detectors + power electronics - Testing and characterization of assembled electronics boards and detectors - Travel to collaborating Indian institutes as required Desired Profile: 1. Educational Background: - Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field with 2+ years experience; OR - Bachelor's degree in these fields with 4+ years experience 2. Technical Expertise: - Proficiency in FPGA programming - Experience in designing/debugging multi-layer PCBs - Analog, digital signal processing techniques - Design of power systems including DC-DC convertors, HV supplies - Familiarity with space applications 3. Software Skills: - Strong programming skills in Python or LabVIEW for GUI-based tools - Knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.) 4. Testing and Validation: - Experience in testing electronics systems under various operational conditions 5. Documentation and Continuous Improvement: - Document all design processes, testing outcomes, and optimization strategies. - Identify and recommend design upgrades to enhance payload efficiency and mission performance. 6. Other: - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams. - Flexibility and readiness to travel for project collaborations Preferred Experience: - 1+ years of work experience in satellite payload development - Familiarity with ISRO guidelines and space electronics standards - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities General Information - Salary will be as per IIT Bombay PR-O3 norms. An INDICATIVE entry-level number is Rs. 95,000 (including HRA if applicable), but can be higher for more experienced candidates.
